There is no greater beginning for the individual wanting to make their first imprint on the world of Barbering than the 26 Week Intermediate Diploma course. Accreditation from The Academy of Hair and Beauty and City and Guilds. This qualification is recognised worldwide.

The exceptional delivery in modern Barbering education and the principal in cutting and colouring techniques that will help to build your skills, will be developed by the exceptional team of Educators within The Academy. You will have a generation of Barbering professionals at your side to guide you to your new beginning.

You would be expected to attend training days twice a week at the Academy to cover all underpinning knowledge, complete online exams and be trained and assessed in your practical skills. All exams are multiple choice on-line tests.

MANDATORY UNITS COVERED:

• Make sure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
• Advise and consult with clients
• Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
• Cut hair using basic barbering techniques
• Cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques
• Dry and finish men’s hair

OPTIONAL UNITS:

• Create basic patterns in hair
• Perm and neutralise hair
• Change men’s hair colour
• Fulfil salon reception duties
• Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
• Give clients a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
• Promote additional services or products to clients
